Eileen’s life is one of transitions, taking her from commercial design, teaching and back to her first love—painting. She is now at the point of life where she is free to explore feelings and ideas. She feels strongly that art is an ongoing learning process—one of joy and satisfaction. Color is something that creates excitement and a memorable response. She settled into colorful, abstract paintings which evolved from emotional responses. In her youth she was part of a group which gave performances in New York City, painting to music, interpreting stories. Educated at Pratt Institute and the UNY at Buffalo, she worked in advertising and eventually became the first civilian woman combat artist for the USMC. Her paintings are at the Marine Museum in Quantico, VA. She has won numerous awards from Hawaii to Washington, DC.
