Madagascar Petrified Wood: The petrified forest on the island of Madagascar is the oldest and probably the largest dating back 220 million years. Most fossil wood found there is predominately pale buff and tan colored, so when our supplier saw some colorful logs from here he flew to Madagascar and purchased several of them. It is no surprise that this stone was selected for this song of the Earth work of art as it features a myriad of pastel colors and crystal pockets woven into a delightful creation. The natural petrified bark edges surround a romantic heart-shape.
