Ibis Jasper: This is a new find of Jasper from Madagascar. This is brecciated Jasper named after a Crane-like bird from Egypt. This bird is associated with the Egyptian deity Thoth, the god of wisdom, scribes, magic and record keeping. The color of the stone resembles the bird’s feathers of the same tams and cream colors. It is a conglomerate of fractured pieces of Jasper cemented together with another mineral, in this case Quartz in all its varieties. This results in a stone complete with the colors of the Jasper with the crystal pockets and sparkles of the Quartz binder.
