Mexican Crazy Lace Agate: Here is a wonderfully patterned Mexican Crazy Lace Agate. Mexican Crazy Lace is a banded Chalcedony often infused with iron and aluminum which gives it the vibrant swirling colors of red, coral, and blues. This specimen has the same type of wandering formation and designs that warranted the mane of "Crazy Lance". This agate deposit comes from the Sierra Santa Lucia mountain range about 125 miles south of El Paso, Texas. The mines are very small and mostly mined by hand without the use of modern equipment. This accounts for the relative scarcity of this material on the market. To find such a wonderful slice as this was a rare treat.
